A Better Day

It's amazing what sleep can do for a person.  Baby and Mommy alike!  Our little sweetie pea slept 5 hours for his first sleep session, followed by two more 2 hour sessions.  We all woke up happy today!

We had another super busy day but luckily we were able to time a car ride during every nap time and it made all the difference!

Good naps = a happy baby!
We started the morning with the last outfit of our photo shoot since he turned into a pumpkin before we could finish yesterday.

Last wardrobe change!
Then we had brunch with David's family.  Ayden even got in an extra little cat nap due to a little unavoidable over stimulation at the restaurant.

Before said cat nap...
Sometimes when a baby gets a little fussy, the adults around assume boredom and then attempt to entertain the baby with bright, noisy toys or getting in their faces to play loud games.  Sometimes this may be the case but a lot of the time all the baby needs is for the lights to be dimmed and the toys removed so they can have a chance to wind down and regulate themselves.  The good thing is that if you don't have the ability to control the environment many babies will eventually fall asleep to escape the overstimulation.  An extra nap is never a bad thing in my book, especially after the day we had yesterday.

...and he's out!
After brunch, we went to the grocery and then went to my sister's house to do her daughter's 6 month photo shoot.

A look behind the scenes!
We stayed there for about 2 hours and finally made it home for dinner and our first bout of down time this whole weekend.

Shew, I'm getting even more tired just writing about it all!  It's always fun to have family in town but it's also nice to get back into the swing of your normal routine.

Here are a couple of cute moments from our day:

Yesterday, at 3 months old on the dot, Ayden started full on giggling.  SO SWEET!!  The only thing is, the only way to get him to do it is to sing the ridiculous "Peas Porridge Hot" rhyme.  The faster I go and the more silly I sound the better in his book.  Oh, the things we parents will do to get our babies to smile and laugh...

We have such a little sweetie! Here's hoping for another 5 hour stretch of sleep tonight!!

What's the silliest thing you've ever done to get a  laugh out of your little one?
