Big Boy Checklist

Ayden, at almost 18 months old, is finally outgrowing his infant carrier. David won a gift card from work last week, we have a road trip to Wisconsin coming up and Ayden has started staying asleep during nap time car seat to stroller/bed transfers so we felt like the time was right. We, of course, wanted a safe car seat but we also wanted to keep it simple and affordable. At the end of the day, we decided on the Graco MyRide 70 convertible seat.
On sale at Target for $135!!
Not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive.  If you don't mind the price tags, the Chicco NextFit, the Diono Radian RXT and all Britax seats have some neat bells and whistles, are comfy looking and are also super safe.  We considered these as options but just couldn't justify the prices at this time (though most reviewers say they are worth every penny). We will probably get the new seat installed and checked this weekend. I can't wait to see what he thinks of it!  He loved it in the store.  He tried to use the cup holders immediately but his snack cup wouldn't fit.

A new big seat for our growing boy!

Next up on the big boy checklist is a haircut. Bye bye baby mullet! *tear*

  1. We have the same seat in green and gray. My son loves it and so do we! Good choice.

    1. Oh good! I felt like it was the sturdiest of the less expensive options. Is it okay for sleeping? That was my only concern... Didn't want his little head to flop around if he tries to sleep, I HATE that on car rides!

    2. My son slept in it comfortably with the head supports. Now that he's 2 and around 30 lbs he does good without the support. His favorite part is the cup holders. He has cars in one side and a cup in the other. I imagine Ayden will like that!
