Farmer's Market! |
A boy on a mission... |
Farm visit. |
Not pictured: We stopped by the bees, fed the white hive and flipped the inner covers back to how they were. I also adjusted the entrance reducer on the yellow hive to the bigger opening. While I was doing all of that, David put wire fencing around our new fig tree to keep animals and such away. We'll be burying it in straw for the winter pretty soon and its little cage will help contain the straw.
We ended the day with a bonfire (hotdogs and s'mores included!) with our parents and my sister's family.
The weather was PERFECT and we had a great time. Ayden sat in a tiny fold up chair with his plate in his lap and fed himself, just like everyone else. Where in the world did our baby go?! He was so wound up that he was still going strong when we finally left my parents' house at 10:30. We wondered how he could still have so much energy only to find that he fell asleep before we made the half mile drive home. Head slumped to the side with his book and truck in his hands. The perfect evidence of a great day if you ask me. Now that we've had some forward motion towards our homestead we are feeling excited again. Waiting is hard but when the time finally comes it is that much sweeter.
How did you spend your Saturday? We are TIRED from ours and ready for a more low key day tomorrow.
