Looking Snazzy

Can I just say...  I LOVE making pies!

My first strawberry pie.

For some reason I find every step of the process so therapeutic.  Also very time consuming.  I was reminded why the whole "eat anything you want if you make it from scratch" rule works well because ain't nobody got time to make a pie from scratch everyday!  Or even every month...

Today was a special day because Ayden was in his own little performance at the dance studio.  It's recital week and we always have the performance for the pre-dance (the 2 and 3 year olds that I teach) the Sunday before the main show.  They get costumes and it's open for anyone and everyone who wants to come watch.  It helps them feel special during a time when all of the "big girls/boys" are preparing for their big show.

To be honest, I had no idea how Ayden would do with an audience but he did great!  We were so proud of him.  Ayden wasn't even technically enrolled in the class, he just ended up being in it by default because he was there with me while I was teaching it.  He had so much fun throughout the whole year that we thought he belonged in the performance.  When we first put his bow tie on him he said, "Like Frosty and Humpty Dumpty!"  Funny boy.

This next week is going to be a little crazy so we are bracing ourselves for the house to be a mess and for our schedules to be off.  Once it's all said and done, though, no more super long Wednesdays for a while.  Woooho!  And now we are off to eat pie.
