Way Of Life

When we step back and look at our life at the moment, it can look pretty chaotic. David works full time and is building our house, both boys are requiring a lot of attention, and we have a lot of animals to care for.  I try my best to keep our household running smoothly, to provide an enriched learning environment for our boys and have started a large purging and decluttering journey. Shew!

We try not to look at the big picture for too long because it is a lot to juggle. We just take it one day at a time and do our best to enjoy eachother and all of the exciting projects and adventures that we have going on. This is our life right NOW. There is no room for any sort of, "I'll be content/happy/relaxed/etc after xyz happens" sort of thinking. What if tomorrow never comes?  We have to wake up everyday ready to embrace whatever comes our way.

"Happiness is not a destination, it's a way of life."

We got to take a little break from the normal hubbub of our life while we were at a birthday part today. We got to visit with friends, the boys got to play and we enjoyed some yummy food.

David got to sneak away to soak in some sweet snuggles.

Things get back to normal tomorrow since we will be preparing our garden site and hopefully going shopping for the seeds and transplants that we'll be planting for our Spring garden. It looks like the weather is finally settling into Spring mode (after snow flurries yesterday...) and I am excited to get it started. I'm not sure what we'd do without all of our chaos because it all adds so much depth and richness to our life!

  1. I hear ya sister. we are trying to move into our home too while living in my mom's basement. We have spent months getting our place ready to move into. Today I painted our house for 7 hours. Exhausting. i can only imagine how tired your hubby must be building your home. Its hard work.

    1. 7 hours of painting DOES sound exhausting! He does get tired but it is so fulfilling for him and that keeps him going.

  3. I am trying to be in this same place :) We have constant family visiting for the next 7 weeks (like 2 day turn around on washing sheets and making guest beds again), so many house projects, unforeseen life craziness, starting the gardens, and just our day-to-day family existence right now. If I stop and think about it I can work myself into a good tizzy. I find myself constantly reminding myself that if I stress about everything going on around me all I will do is miss these precious days of Meghan's - she's growing up in the midst of the craziness and I don't want to miss it worrying about everything else. Ah....so much easier said than done, though! It's nice to know I'm not the only one!

  4. They do keep growing in the midst of the craziness! It is so important that we try and stay present no matter how frazzled we feel. That being said, it is still very hard work...
