CSA: Week 2 Recap

Happy June! This week's CSA inspired meals were pretty much more of the same with all of the greens we're getting.  Here's what we got this week:

We get the full share.

For the most part we just had meat and salad:

Steak, pepper, onion and mushroom kabobs +
Salad with strawberries, radishes and balsamic vinaigrette.
But there were a couple of more exciting meals like this one:

Parsley roasted pork chops
greens and turnip griddle cakes (that didn't stick together but were still delicious!)
Homemade ranch for dipping (made from homemade mayo)
Here's what we have to work with this week:

That napa cabbage (far right) is seriously bigger than my head!  I have some pretty stellar cabbage rolls on tap for that guy.  It will probably only use a fraction of it so I'm definitely open to taking napa cabbage recipe ideas if anyone has any to share!

We also came away from the farmer's market with these beauties:

Organic fresh strawberries!
I can't get enough.  I LOVE berry season.
I am hoping that these posts will get a bit more exciting as we get further into the season and we start getting more variety.

  2. I love that ranch dip but the recipe is dairy free. I thought ya'll were eating dairy since you last mentioned you get local grass Fed milk. Do ya'll still do that or back to dairy free again. I was excited ya'll were bringing back dairy so I hope ya'll do.

    1. You can use any milk you want in any recipe that calls for it.
