Family Night

I totally ninja kicked my day today! I had a big to do list and was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to pull it all off but somehow I managed. Go me!! Here is a picture of my to do list:

The only things I didn't get done were buy paint for the bee hives.
Not too shabby!
We had a crock pot meal for dinner and then left our dishes for later so we could have a family fun night. Ayden was the DJ for our keyboard demo dance party. We had some bean sensory play together and we read books.

We let Ayden lead the way with only play on the agenda and it was a lot of fun. We are going to make it a point to devote one week night a week to just BEING together with no set to do's. I thought that the dirty kitchen looming over my head would distract me from my enjoying the experience bit it did quite the opposite. I am refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to tackle the kitchen after my boys go to bed.

Comforting my little sweetie after a fall.
Do you have a family fun night? What is your family's favorite thing to do?

  1. Way to go girl. Sometimes we just have to prioritize and let the little things (like a dirty kitchen) just wait!

  2. Now that I'm on maternity leave, we have had lots of family togetherness, but when I'm working its hard to remember to stop and enjoy the time with my boys. I'll have to make a point of doing so more often!

  3. Make sur you aren't doing too much. I have been reading your blog and it seems like you push yourself to get so much done everyday. Having a baby to take care of and adjusting to motherhood is so hard, hard enugh as it is.

  4. I must say I agree with the anonymous comment. Being a mother is a full time job in itself, is there a way you could share the household chores with your husband? It did seem a shame that both your boys went to bed & you were left with the kitchen to do! I do admire you & the wonderful way you bring up your little son

    1. Thank you! We do share chore responsibility. This was a rare occasion. Typically, David does all of the kitchen clean up while I put Ayden to bed (he still nurses to sleep), especially now that we have our own place again. Since David has to get up so early for work, I don't mind staying up to take care of it myself every now and then.
