Feels Like Home

This is the first thing we do in the morning now that we are falling into our new routine at the cottage.

It actually brings back fond memories from when Ayden was a tiny baby and would enjoy what we deemed "window time" every morning. Back then, I think he liked the high contrast pattern of the slanted blinds. Now he enjoys the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. We can also see an old barn with a silo and he is convinced there are cows in it. He points at it and moo'd excitedly. He also thinks there is a horse taking up residence in the shed in our back yard. Someday, Ayden. Someday...

Now that the recital is over I had the whole day to focus on unpacking and organizing our things. I hate actually moving but having a clean slate for going through, purging and reorganizing your stuff is definitely an added bonus that *almost* makes it all worth it. Haha. I made my first big meal for dinner tonight and really loved having things organized the way that works in my own head as opposed to using someone else's system.

David and Ayden played chase in the front yard for a good half hour tonight and it must have tuckered Ayden out because he went right to sleep!  David got the kitchen cleaned up while I put Ayden to bed.  Everyone works together so later, everyone can play together.

Some summer storms are rolling in so David and I are going to spend the rest of our evening curled up on the couch, watching a movie.

What is your favorite thing to do during a storm?
