24 Hours

I know, I know. You may be disappointed that this is not a baby having related post. We are still patiently waiting. In the meantime, I'd like to pass on a challenge.

This photo recently showed up in my facebook feed and David and I decided to use it as inspiration:

We are not negative people but we are still human. We can complain and get frustrated just as much as the next person. We are well aware that the things we find ourselves complaining about are totally first world problems and that perhaps they don't really need to be complained about at all but rather taken in stride as life happening. But we still find ourselves doing it anyway...  We have taken on this challenge for two days now and the photo does not lie. It turns out that a little complaint quickly snowballs into a lot of complaining (more than we realized at least) and by the end of the day a rotten mood. The weight that we carry on our shoulders from the things that "bother" us daily is EXHAUSTING. We found that when we let go of all of those petty little things we are happier and have more energy by the end of the day.  These days this is a beautiful thing because I can use all of the extra energy I can get!

My challenge for all of you is to give this no complaining thing a try for 24 hours. When you get annoyed and feel like complaining, just remember how there is ALWAYS someone else out there who is worse off than you. All of our "problems" can quickly turn into life just running it's course. The ups and downs as life ebbs and flows are not a really big deal in the grand scheme of things.

In baby news I had a midwife appointment this evening. She is estimating Logan to be between 7.5 and 8 pounds, says that his head is pretty low (which explains his new nightly ritual of cervical jabbing) and that his heart rate passed the test for reactivity with flying colors. All of my vitals and my urine sample were great too. She was impressed with my energy and even went as far as to call me her "ray of sunshine" client because most moms are defeated and down in the dumps when they are this far overdue. She has a feeling that I'll be calling her within a few days but we still scheduled a 42 week appointment just in case. Now we just wait some more.

David has been getting some much needed non-rainy days for building, our spirits have been lifted since we are not sweating all the small stuff around us, and we are relishing this extra three-musketeer time we have been given.  It is safe to say that all is well in the Ladnier household!

Are you up for the challenge?  Be sure to let me know how it goes if you do it too!

I'm taking your challenge. No complaining this weekend for me. Not Saturday nor Sunday :)
