Back At It

Today came and went so quickly! Ayden and I spent the whole morning having my car repaired.  I had reluctantly made a 9:15 appointment but in the end was glad I did.  It ended up taking 3 hours!  We split the time between:

A coffee house,
a kid's consignment store,
and the kid's area at the Honda service place.
The repairs weren't cheap but I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.  Right before Ayden was born we had to replace our clothes dryer and the defrost board on one of the heating units at our old house.  Naturally before Logan's birth we have to replace a bunch of stolen building equipment and deal with major car repairs.  Ahhhh the joys of adult life!  The good thing is that years from now the sting of the missing money will be gone and it'll just be another story to tell.

Since Mr. Logan has not made his appearance yet, I went to teach my first night of dance for the season.  My mom is going to be covering my classes while I am on maternity leave so she was there too.  It was kind of nice because I got to show her some of the things that she can work on with my students and I was also able to be a knowing presence for my 2 year old babies on their first night.

Officially 41 weeks!
Did not even TRY to bust out any dance clothes.  Haha!
My students were all surprised to see me and I am starting to get a lot of induction questions. My replies about letting him come on his own time always get met with blank stares and sounds of crickets.  Oh man, us and our crazy, crunchy, hippie ways.  We sure do end up perplexing a lot of people!

Even though I was able to catch a short nap, I am EXHAUSTED.  David was building this evening so I got Ayden to bed, took care of the pets and plopped down on the couch.  There are piles of laundry to be folded, dog fur to be vacuumed and dishes to be done but they are going to have to wait until tomorrow.  The funny part is that I don't even care.  I guess that shift is coming easier than I thought it would. I suppose if I do end up going into labor tonight at some point, it would give me something to do during the early stages... Now to veg out for a bit and go to bed early(ish)!

  1. Get your rest friend. I can't believe how active your staying. I probably wouldn't have moved the last three weeks LOL

    1. I get a little stir crazy when I don't do SOMETHING for too long. I definitely sit more often than I used to and can't stand to be in the sun for longer than 10 minutes or so. Having Logan will force me to slow down a bit so that's always good :). I've had strict orders from my midwife to stay in bed and cuddle my babies for the first week and to continue to take it easy until I am done bleeding. I fully intend on following orders this time around because I overdid it when Ayden was a newborn.

  2. You look great! I bet once he decides to start making an entrance he'll come quickly -- you've been so active. Wishing you a healthy & swift labor!

We have similar birth/baby/life views in our family and we tend to get some looks for our "crunchy" decisions. My little lady came a few days before her due date, but since she was my first I fully intended her to stay put until 42 weeks and was fine with that. Towards the end of my pregnancy people started asking about induction and when I told them I wouldn't think of it until 42 and then only try natural first I got the same reaction. I couldn't believe people were asking about induction a week before my due date as if the second I went over my due date I would want to induce. Crazy.

  3. Oh wow! Looks like a Kettler trike at that consignment store! I wonder how much it was? I kept busy with my labor by baking a "birth"day cake because I didn't have any cleaning to be done!

    1. The brand was red flyer and I believe it was around $30. It really wasn't in that great of shape when you looked up close. I backed over Ayden's $5 Goodwill Huffy trike recently so we are on the lookout but it did not feel worth the price tag for me! A birthday cake is a really cute idea! I baked cookies when I was in labor with Ayden.
