One week until Christmas!! Can you believe it?
We made cookies for Ayden's play group friends. We still have some dough left so we will make more on Sunday afternoon.
Today was another rough day for Ayden but we all barreled through and made it to see Santa!
Logan's first time seeing Santa! Ayden looks thrilled... |
They did a little photo shopping again for us. Ayden has said from the start that he wants Christmas without Santa this year. We've been trying to warm him up to the idea and he went in to this Santa visit saying he would stand next to him for the photo; but when he was up close and personal he was feeling shy to say the least. Logan got his picture with the big guy, Ayden got his picture with Daddy and then they merged them together. We are hoping next year will be better for Ayden but I bet Logan will be the one whose stranger danger radar will be going off. Such a funny tradition that we have, forcing our kids to sit on a stranger's lap and expecting them to like it, but I just can't bring myself to not do it... We let Santa know that Ayden wanted the Plane's Fire and Rescue movie and a school bus toy and he said he'd see what he could do. Let the big Christmas countdown begin!

It's pretty neat that they photoshopped for you! Santa pics have always been a big tradition in my family too. Since I'm not really a fan of the screaming baby Santa pic, my sister and I decided to get into the photo with our sons until they're old enough to want to do it themselves. Poor Santa being crushed under two grown women tho hahaha
ReplyDeleteI always torn about photoshop because it kind of erases the "real life" aspect of a moment, but it is nice to have them both in the shot without having to make one cry! You all being in the pictures is a great idea!
DeleteIt's so great seeing you make sugar cookies. How fun! I love how you guys aren't as strict as you used to be with Paleo. Christmas is much funner when you incorporate sugar cookies and traditions.
ReplyDeleteWe were only strict for a year while we tried to heal David's autoimmune disease. We really liked how we felt and how our bodies looked but we really missed the social and traditional aspects that surround food. You are right it is definitely fun to bake sugar cookies together for the holidays :).
DeleteI was just going to comment that it is so weird to buy white sugar and flour! We "did" Paleo at the beginning of 2014 and continued gluten-free for a while, then "healthy" at home but when I'm pregnant, all I want is bread and soda in the beginning! I wanted chocolate chip cookies, Nestle version in particular, and it felt so strange buying the ingredients since we had been making cookies with almond meal and honey, etc! We still rarely use those ingredients we bought but my hubby used the brown sugar today in oatmeal for a change. I agree about how our bodies feel and look on Paleo, we were hot stuff! Haha
